Roley AI Terms of Use

Acceptance and age limit

Roley is provided by TrendsDB. You may use the app only if you are at least 18 years old; by creating an account you confirm that you are over 18. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the app.

Description of the service

In Roley you create your own virtual character (your "Roley") and chat with AI characters and with other users' roles. In "auto mode" your Roley writes messages on your behalf; these messages are shown to the other party as written by AI. AI replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. All characters are fictional: characters with the "Parody" badge do not represent any real, living or historical person; what characters with the "Fictional Expert" badge say is not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice and does not replace a professional.

Your account

You are responsible for the security of your account and for everything done with it. Providing false information, impersonating others or using multiple accounts to circumvent quotas is prohibited. The welcome trial and the first-week extra-message entitlement are available once per person. Deleting an account and registering again to receive either benefit again is abuse and does not create a new entitlement; hashes of deleted accounts are retained for this purpose.

Language-learning service and tutors

Language tutors are AI. Corrections, level estimates and reports may be inaccurate and are not an official language-proficiency certificate. The scenario report is a Premium feature. Each language has one female and one male AI tutor; choosing a tutor is your preference, and tutors are not real people.

AI versions and message labels

In Social and chats, the other party is often an AI version of another user. Messages are clearly labelled according to whether they were written by AI or by a real user.

Message suggestions, coaches and feedback

A Premium message suggestion uses 1 message credit; the message you are about to write and recent chat history are sent to an AI provider to generate it. Suggestions are advisory only, and you are responsible for sending them and for their consequences. Roley's 12 original, entirely fictional coaches offer communication and personal-development ideas; they are not therapy, medical, legal or financial advice. Coaches do not help with manipulation, coercion, stalking or sexual content. If you paste other people's messages to a coach, you confirm that you have the necessary rights to do so. We may use feedback suggestions you send to improve the service without payment or another claim of right.

Your content and code of conduct

The characters, definitions, images and messages you create ("Content") belong to you; you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them to provide and display the service, process them with AI and moderate them. The following is strictly prohibited: characters that impersonate living real people (including celebrities), copyrighted characters or real organisations, or use their images; any content depicting or sexualising minors; harassment, threats, hate speech, glorification of violence; illegal content; sharing other people's personal data; automation that abuses the service. Every character and chat can be reported and blocked. The administration team may access private messages only for justified, logged moderation or safety reviews; infringing content may be removed and the account involved may be suspended or terminated.

Subscriptions and quotas

Free use has daily message and feature quotas. Each sent message uses 1 message credit; credits renew daily, and rules for chats with system characters and Popular characters vary by plan. Plus and Pro subscriptions renew automatically weekly or monthly through your Apple account; unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the renewal is charged. You can manage and cancel your subscription in iOS Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple. Sandbox and test purchases provide a short-term plan in production. We may change quota amounts, prices and features with reasonable notice; referral rewards and bonus messages have no monetary value and are not transferable. Subscriptions are not "unlimited"; the stated quotas apply under fair use.

Intellectual property

The app, trademarks, design and software belong to TrendsDB. You may not copy, reverse-engineer or commercially exploit the app without permission. The assistant characters provided by Roley (for example the language teachers) belong to TrendsDB.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time inside the app. If you violate these terms we may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice.

Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI content, uninterrupted conversations or any particular outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrendsDB is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages; our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye; the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer rights of the country you live in remain unaffected.
